Apricots

Apricots are not found year round, in-fact they are not even at all grocery stores… but when you do find them you might wonder how to select the perfect one! HBW is here to help!

Apricots are usually pickced slightly immature because tree-ripened apricots cannot be shipped. If you are lucky enough to live close to an area that grows apricots, you are LUCKY!

When selecting your apricots make sure to look for the following:

  • Plump
  • Firm
  • Uniformly colored
  • Avoid bruising
  • Avoid greenish-yellow
  • Avoid hard or shrivled

Yum. Just thinking about a perfect apricot has my mouth watering. They are typically “in season” May – July – I better hurry up and find them before July is over.
